Steven Schafer, FCAS, CFA

Steve has 25 years of experience in the reinsurance and financial services industry and joined Aon in 2002 as a member of the Account Services team. Throughout his reinsurance career, Steve has performed in all areas of account management, including new business development, reinsurance negotiation and placing, and providing customized reinsurance solutions that respond to insurers’ unique needs. Prior to Aon, Steve began his career at Northern Trust in their asset management division. As the Managing Director of their taxable bond department, Steve was responsible for managing the organization’s insurance client relationships.
Steve is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations. He earned a BA in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
