Yavapai Regional Medical CenterSandy Tsang is the Director of Risk Management and Quality Resource for Yavapai Regional Medical Center, a 135 bed hospital in Prescott Arizona and Yavapai Regional Medical Center – East Campus, a 75 bed hospital in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Both of these facilities provide full service medical care to the people of Yavapai County in northern Arizona. Sandy received her BS from the University of Arizona and is certified in Infection Prevention and Quality Management. She began her career at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, and then at HealthSourth Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern Arizona, also in Tucson. She moved to northern Arizona in 2006, helping to open Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, a 40 bed acute care rehab hospital in Prescott as Director of Risk / Quality and Infection Prevention. She over 30 years of experience in the Healthcare Environment – seeing healthcare from multiple perspectives – a medical technologist in the laboratory, an Infection Preventionist, and now through the eyes of a Director of Risk Management and Quality Resource. The diverse hospital background lends itself well to understanding and close collaboration with clinical and ancillary areas in the hospital. She has spoken for the Arizona Chapter of Association for Professionals in Infection Prevention; Arizona Society for Healthcare Engineers; HealthSouth Quality University and Healthsouth National WEB EX Education.
Most recently, Yavapai Regional Medical Center was honored to be the recipient of the 2011 “CNA Leadership in Patient Safety Award” This award is given in recognition of clients who have exhibited excellence in patient safety and risk management programs, active participation with CNA risk and claim management services, favorable loss/claim history and represent an overall insured client that CNA views in good standing from underwriting, claim and risk perspectives.
