Mark Fogg, JD

Mr. Fogg has practiced in Colorado for thirty-two years.  His practice was comprised of defense of health care related claims including medical malpractice, medical board matters, anti-competitive claims, hospital related matters and risk management consulting while at Kennedy Childs & Fogg, P.C. from 1985-2011.  He became General Counsel at COPIC in 2011.  He has lectured extensively in these areas. He is President-elect of the Colorado Bar Association. Mr. Fogg was the President of the Denver Bar Association from 2008-2009 and received the Denver Bar Association Award of Merit in 2010 for extraordinary service to the legal profession and the administration of justice.  He received the 2011 CU Law Distinguished Alumni Award in private practice.  He is a past President of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Colorado and received the St. Thomas More Award in 2005 given to attorneys exemplifying the intellect, integrity, and moral courage of St. Thomas More.  He was the Chair of the Denver Bar Association Professionalism Committee from 2004-2006.  He was the Chair of the Colorado Bar Association Professionalism Committee from 2006 to 2007.  He was the coordinator of the Professionalism Vignette Project in 2006-2007 which received the 2009 American Bar Association E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Award for the Colorado Bar Association/Denver Bar Association.  He is currently an appointed member of the Chief Justice’s Commission on the Legal Profession and Chair of the working group regarding new lawyers. He served on the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee for fifteen years.  He was a Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Denver District Attorney's Office.  He received his education at James Madison College, Michigan State University, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and his law degree from the University of Colorado where he received the William O. DeSouchet Award for best trial team.
