Kristin D. McMahon, Esq.

As Chief Claims Officer of IronHealth, a division of IronShore, Kristin oversees all claims under IronHealth’s managed care, healthcare, and nursing home professional liability policies.

Prior to joining IronHealth, Kristin was in private practice for eighteen (18) years, the most recent as a partner at the Chicago, Illinois based law firm of Kerns, Frost & Pearlman, LLC (“KFP”).   Over the course of her career, Kristin has assisted insurers and reinsurers with the development of professional liability programs, claim management and coverage with a focus on the following lines of coverage: managed care professional liability, medical professional liability, employment practice liability, directors and officers liability, and insurance company errors and omissions liability.  Kristin offers her IronHealth Insureds a wealth of insurance claims handling experience.  She has served as claims and coordinating counsel on managed care and medical professional liability programs, and conducts seminars on substantive legal and risk management issues and claim trends.

Kristin has published numerous papers involving medical professional liability, managed care liability exposures, and proposed patient bill of rights/health care legislation.   Kristin graduated from Fairfield University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1987.  She received her J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law in 1990, where she was an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar.  Ms. McMahon is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts and New York. Kristin is a member of the ABA and Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
