Derek M. Daniels

Derek M. Daniels is a founding partner of McCumber, Daniels, Buntz, Hartig & Puig, P.A. Daniels and practices from the firm’s Florida and Pennsylvania offices.  Mr. Daniels obtained both his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and his Juris Doctor, with high honors, from the University of Florida.  He has been admitted to practice law in Florida since 1995 and in Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 2006.  Mr. Daniels’ practice has focused on the areas of medical malpractice, hospital, and nursing home defense litigation since 1998.  Additionally, Mr. Daniels has significant experience defending corporate structures in cases involving attempts to pierce the corporate veil or direct claims against parent companies.  Mr. Daniels is an active member of the Florida Hospital Association and the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety.  In 2006, he was recognized by his peers as a “Legal Elite” as profiled in Florida Trend Magazine and achieved Super Lawyer Rising Star status in 2011.
